SIR JOHN CLOBERY. CLOSELY ASSOCIATED WITH GENERAL MONK AND INVOLVED IN THE PLANNING OF MONK'S MARCH SOUTH WITH THE CONDSTREAM GUARDS IN SUPPORT OF CHARLES II. (NOT EXACT WORDING) EXACT WORDING CONTINUES: "AND WHAT MONK AND HE (CLOBERY) HIMSELF HAD PLANNNED IN SCOTLAND, THIS WHEN THEY CAME TO LONDON THEY EASILY PUT INTO EFFECT. THUS THEY RESTORED PEACE TO ENGLAND, AND CHARLES THE SECOND TO THE THRONE, THE WHOLE PEOPLE APPLAUDING....AMIDST THE NOISE OF ARMS...HE APPLIED HIMSELF SEDULOUSLY (A THING RARELY FOUND IN SOLDIERS) TO HUMANE LETTERS AND HE SEEMED TO HAVE GROWN OLD AT ATHENS RATHER THAN IN CAMP."
