No visible damage and lettering on the inscription in very good condition.
Memorial Notes:
Monck was a professional soldier who originally fought for the King. He was captured at Nantwich in January 1644 and was imprisoned. He was released in late 1646 and fought in Ulster in 1647-1649 and Scotland (1650-1659) for Parliament. He was instrumental in facilitating the return of King Charles II in 1660 and was subsequently made Duke of Albemarle.
